The Ventura Film Festival was founded in 2004 and has showcased numerous films, generally exceeding 200 films per summer season, and has generated excitement within the global film industry. Distinguished events have encompassed featuring distinguished filmmaker Dylan O'Neil, the original world champion surfers Peter "PT" Townend and surf legend Ian Cairns, four-time world champion Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu/MMA competitor combat sports star Fabio Leopoldo, and the 50th Anniversary tribute to West Side Story, which included hosting the complete Oscar-winning ensemble of West Side Story, featuring Academy Award honoree/Golden Globe winner George Chakiris along with Golden Globe honoree/Academy Award nominee Russ Tamblyn. The founder and executive director of the Ventura Film Festival was invited to join, together with many of Hollywood's biggest stars, in the 50-year anniversary event of West Side Story and Hollywood's legendary footprint/handprint ceremony check here for Oscar honorees Rita Moreno, George Chakiris, and legendary actor Golden Globe award winner Russ Tamblyn at the iconic Chinese Theater in Hollywood.
